Milpe Bird Sanctuary

Milpe Bird Sanctuary

Club-Winged and Golden Manakin, as well as the elusive and endangered Umbrella Bird. This is for sure "the" place to find the endemic Chocó Toucan as well as Pale-mandibled Aracari, and Chestnut Mandibled Toucan and about 16 tanager species, some endemic. There is nowhere else you can see such a large number of these 3 toucans species  right in front of your eyes, enough to amaze anyone, with similar impressive number of tanagers as Mashpi. Additionally this is the best place to watch the Red Headed Barbet, and the Green Honeycreeper. At night it is possible to see the Mottled and the Crested Owl and hear them sing to indulge your ears.

We love working with this sanctuary as it  is involved in major conservation projects which contribute to reforest large areas of the Ecuadorian Chocó so putting your money here is a smart choice.
